“It was awesome and fantastic!!  Thank you for introducing new foods and educating the kids about food in addition to manners.  I know the mom’s that stayed and watched were delighted and entertained (especially when the vegan child ate all of the bacon off her friends plate because she didn’t have any...lol)  Many wonderful memories were made, thanks to you and your staff.  Thank you for allowing me to introduce and share your culinary talents with all of our guests.  Many live in your area, so I’m sure you will be seeing some again soon.

Who says adults and kids won’t eat the same thing? In fact, we looked through our recipe file and came up with hundreds of family-friendly suggestions. We’ve incorporated them into a series of Children’s Classes.

One reason kids are fussy eaters is because they haven’t tasted enough good food. High quality, simple, well prepared dishes are the solution. Start kids off on the right track by exposing them to as much fresh, good food as possible. And, avoid “kid food” which is usually something processed, frozen or packaged. It won’t turn anyone into a good eater.

Another key to establishing good eating habits is getting kids to participate. Including them in meal planning and preparation and spending mealtime together makes a difference. Even if kids are just choosing the pasta shape, get them involved. When kids feel invested in the outcome, they’re more likely to eat.

Learning the difference between iceburg lettuce and mache – teaching children the art of plating food makes all the difference in the world as to how they see it and, ultimately, whether they want to eat it.

Cook Gourmet offers nutritious and healthy concepts but doesn’t take away from the art of dipping strawberries in melted Callebaut chocolate. You’d be surprised what master chefs they will become!
